Garden Landscape Project FAQs

I don't have a specific garden design idea in mind. Can you still help me?

Absolutely! If you are struggling to envision the potential of your garden, our designer will spend time talking with you to build up an understanding of what you want from your garden, your needs, likes and dislikes. That will form the basis of a brief from which we will create a design that maximises the potential of your space. Whether you're looking for modern, traditional, or eclectic designs, we're here to help you realise your ideal garden, one that will be tailored to your unique preferences and lifestyle.

Can you accommodate my budget?

At our first consultation visit, as well as discussing your brief for the design we will also talk about what sort of investment you might need to make to realise your new garden. If you can share your budget that’s really helpful as we can tailor your design accordingly. If not we can suggest a range that might apply to create a garden to your brief. In this way you can commission your design in confidence that we will be able to deliver the best garden possible at a budget you are comfortable with.

How long will my project take to complete?

Our team will work efficiently to ensure timely completion while maintaining the highest quality standards. The duration of your project will depend on its scope and complexity. When we submit your final quotation, we will provide you with a timeline for completion based on the specifics of your new garden.

Do you offer garden maintenance services?

At Haywood Landscapes, we do not provide general garden maintenance services. However, we do specialise in creating stunning outdoor spaces that require minimal upkeep.

We also provide guidance on garden maintenance to help you keep your outdoor space looking its best year-round. As part of our hand-over package, we will provide aftercare information on your planting, new lawn, cleaning and care of your garden surfaces and features. For a small annual fee, we can also give you access to an online resource with comprehensive guidance on pruning and specific plant care. This will help ensure the long-term health and beauty of your garden.

Do you provide landscaping services for commercial properties?

Yes! We have extensive experience in landscaping for commercial properties, including office buildings, retail spaces, and public areas - enhancing the curb appeal and overall aesthetics of your commercial property.

Do you work with designers and architects?

Haywood Landscapes works with designers and architects to align landscaping elements with overall property plans. We value teamwork and open communication to ensure your design is implemented to the highest standard and your client gets exactly what you intend.

How long will it be before you can start my project?

Our lead times vary according to seasonal demand, size or project and our current order book. However, they typically range from around 1 to 4 months from your deposit paid order.

We also have to prepare your proposal – which takes time to get just right for you! For a full garden design, the consultation, design and estimating process will typically take more than a month. For more straightforward projects, it can be less.

A Modern Garden for Outdoor Living

As is often the case, when you move home, the garden you take on may not reflect your style or needs; it may be bigger or have elements that simply do not fit with your plans for enjoying your outdoor space. This was exactly the dilemma facing our clients near Faversham as they took on an awkward-shaped sloping garden...

A traditional country garden

Making the most of the natural beauty of the Kent countryside, a traditional country garden should reflect its outlying landscape character. Lending itself to a free-flowing, informal planting scheme, the more traditional rural landscape design will often feature wildflowers, natural water, some kitchen and cottage garden elements, and softer themes.

An Overlooked Garden Transformed

With a property on a large new-build development our clients were blessed with a relatively large garden, but it was set on a hillside and had an awful outlook towards tall fences, timber retaining walls and properties ‘up-slope’ looming over them.

An Informal Garden

One of the joys of being in a beautiful garden is that it helps us to relax and reconnect with nature. This is particularly so in a well-designed informal garden which our clients wish for their mature plot.

A Family Garden

With no existing features or character to guide the design, new-build homes with ‘blank Canvas’ plots can sometimes be more challenging to design than a more mature garden. This particular example was sloping across its entire depth and featured poor heavy clay soil. It was also an irregular awkward shape, producing lots of additional challenges.

A Seaside Garden

Separated from the beach only by a quiet road and with a commanding view across the English Channel, this fine property in Deal was let down by the garden. With a massively overgrown rockery and dilapidated crazy paving their coastal garden design was very dated, in a poor state, and completely unmanageable for our clients who are an elderly couple. They wanted us to come up with some suitable seaside garden ideas that would transform their garden.
